The Value of Multiple Medication Trials Prior to Balloon Sinuplasty in the Management of Chronic Sinonasal Disease

Before resorting to surgical intervention, patients with chronic rhinosinusitis frequently try conservative interventions with lengthy medical trials. An established method for treating the symptoms of chronic rhinosinusitis is balloon sinuplasty. Before balloon sinuplasty, there wasn't enough evidence to support claims that prolonged medication management trials had subpar effectiveness. The severity and duration of the patient's symptoms increased during medication management trials. When taking the SNOT(Sino-Nasal Outcome Test) scores into account, the balloon sinuplasty procedure alone demonstrated a significant improvement in the quality of life for patients with chronic rhinosinusitis.
